South Bay Athletic Club (SBAC) is a community-based youth sports organization headquartered at the Colich Throwing Center, the premier training facility for throwing sports in Southern California.
We believe in creating opportunities for every young person in Los Angeles County, regardless of their background, to participate in high-quality sports programs and learn from athletes competing at the highest levels.
Our Approach.
SBAC creates opportunities for young people to build connection with track & field athletes from local colleges.
In addition to offering free community programming on-site at the Colich Throwing Center, we bring our elite athletes to coach at organizations across Los Angeles County and supplement their work with free structured sport and play.
The Center
The Colich Throwing Center serves as both our home base and a community hub - we host athletic training, community events, free Play Days, and regional competitions like the LA Throws Cup.
Community Outreach
We partner with local youth programs at community centers, parks, and schools to supplement their work with free structured sport and play.
Coached by elite college athletes.
Our coaches are embedded in our programs throughout the year, allowing them to build lasting relationships with participants while serving as mentors and role models. In addition to being at the top of their game at the college level, many of our elite athletes have performed on the professional and even Olympic stages.
