South Bay Athletic Club (SBAC) is a community-based youth sports organization in Los Angeles County headquartered at the Colich Throwing Center, the premier training facility for throwing sports in Southern California.
Our Approach.
We partner with track & field athletes from colleges in Los Angeles County to create opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and play. In addition to offering programs on-site at our center, we send our elite athletes out to coach at local organizations.
The Center.
The Colich Throwing Center serves as both our home base and a community hub - we host athletic training, community events, free Play Days, and regional competitions like the LA Throws Cup. Check out the footage below from the 2025 Cup!

The Community.
We partner with local youth programs at community centers, parks, and schools to supplement their work with free structured sport and play, all coached by our elite athletes. Check out this video about our work with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Los Angeles Harbor!
Our coaches are embedded in our programs throughout the year, allowing them to build lasting relationships with participants while serving as mentors and role models. In addition to being at the top of their game at the college level, many of our elite athletes have performed on the professional and even Olympic stages.
